“I AM QUEEN” SCHOLARSHIP

 
 

The I AM QUEEN Scholarship was founded by Tyneisha Renai Reed in 2017. Tyneisha is a 2007 graduate of Osceola High School and a 2012 graduate of Arkansas State University. The purpose of The I AM QUEEN Scholarship is to inspire and encourage graduating African American female seniors to further their education in hopes that they can one day use their higher education experiences to give back to their very own community.

Annual “I am Queen” Scholarship

Akeyla Barksdale, a 2017 graduate of Osceola High School in Osceola, Arkansas, was the first recipient of the “I AM QUEEN” Scholarship. As a winner of the 2017 I AM QUEEN Scholarship, Akeyla received $500 toward her first year of study at Philanders Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas (Private, 4-year Historically Black College/University HBCU).

Dezney Lewis is the 2018 recipient of the I AM QUEEN Scholarship and received $1,000 ($500 for the fall semester, and $500 for the spring semester) towards her education. Dezney is attending Arkansas Northwestern College in Blytheville, Arkansas where she is majoring in pre-health and biology in her initial pursuit of becoming a medical doctor.
